The word was first used in 1992 in the dystopian novel “Snow Crash” by Neal Stephanson. In the book, Metevarse is mentioned as a virtual world where all kinds of virtual interactions of the internet have a direct impact on real life.
After 1992, this issue has been the subject of many books and movies. In general, it is accepted that Metevarse is a virtual reality that contains everything in live life, and everything that can be done in reality with technological advances in the future can be done in the Metaverse environment.
We can say that the awareness and popularity of Metaverse started with the movement of Mark Zuckerberg, one of the biggest names in technology of our age. On October 28, 2021, Facebook, which he owned, re-introduced his own brand and named it Meta Platform. Later, with the 77-minute video he prepared about Metaverse, he explained to millions of people what Metaverse was and how it felt.
If we come to the summary of the work; With the Metaverse universe, human beings will be able to live their second life with an avatar they created. They will be able to play games, shop and even work in 3D. He will be able to plan all his activities in real life as he wishes in the virtual environment. As of now, it is not possible to do this, but with the advancing technology, we are getting closer to the second life day by day.
